MV My Girl Ferry Service
Heaving Down Rock Marina (Walkin Marina), ProvidencialesMy Girl MV Ferry is a passenger ferry service connecting visitors to the Turks and Caicos between the islands of Providenciales and North Caicos.
Traveling via ferry is the favored means of transport to the islands of North Caicos and Middle Caicos, whether you’re visiting for the day or plan on staying overnight. Although both islands have an airport, there are no scheduled flights to either island.
Visiting North Caicos and Middle Caicos from Providenciales on a day trip is a highly recommended activity as these islands are home to some of the most spectacular landscapes and beaches in the Turks and Caicos, as well as a number of historical ruins.
The ferry service takes about 25 minutes each way and follows a highly scenic route along the magnificent Caicos Cays. On your journey, you’ll catch impressive views of Little Water Cay, Half Moon Bay, Water Cay, Pine Cay, Fort George Cay, Dellis Cay, and Parrot Cay before arriving at North Caicos. From there, visitors can rent a car to explore the islands.
My Girl Ferry operates a smaller vessel with comfortable seating to ensure passengers have an enjoyable journey, which is suitable for up to 15 people. Reservations are not usually required, although guests are asked to arrive at the dock at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
Schedules and Ferry Ports
It should be noted that schedules and prices are subject to change, and it’s best to contact My Girl Ferry prior to your trip to confirm arrival and departure times, as well as the cost. My Girl Ferry is usually punctual and will depart within 10 minutes of the scheduled times. If you’re traveling with a large group, it’s advisable to contact the ferry in advance to ensure sufficient space.
There are no scheduled ferries to the island of Middle Caicos. North Caicos and Middle Caicos are connected by a road causeway, making it possible to drive across both islands. On Providenciales, the ferry departs from Heaving Down Rock Marina (Walkin Marina), which is on the far eastern end of the island. It’s easy to find this area on Providenciales—simply follow Leeward Highway to the end of the road, and you won’t miss it.
If you continue past the roundabout that leads to Grace Bay, the four-lane Leeward Highway transforms into a paved road with one lane each way, and continues in the same direction. There are also small road signs indicating the way at the Grace Bay roundabout, and near Heaving Down Rock.
Driving from the Providenciales International Airport, you can arrive at the ferry dock in just under 20 minutes, and the journey from the Grace Bay area takes less than 10 minutes.
My Girl Ferry docks where the road ends at the water, off a short floating dock system. Tickets can be purchased at the ferry boat.
On North Caicos, My Girl Ferry lands at Bellefield Landing, which is a small dock and cargo port on the southwestern point of the island. There are no restaurants or shops located at Bellefield Landing. Car rental companies and taxis will usually meet their guests arriving via ferry at the dock.
