Providenciales Horseback Riding
Providenciales has three small riding stables, each offering rides along the beautiful beaches of Providenciales. Unique Tours is located at quaint Blue Hills Beach in central Providenciales. Located on the southeast side of the island near Long Bay Beach, Provo Ponies offers both group and private rides. There’s also a small stable at Five Cays Beach near Bugaloo’s restaurant.
Horseback riding is a fun experience that the whole family can enjoy while on your tropical vacation.
The beaches in the Turks and Caicos offers an amazing setting for riding, with turquoise water and white sand, and both beginners and experienced equestrians will appreciate the routes.
Before rides, the stables give a quick introduction on equipment and safety, and offer guide-led ponies for small children.
The Best Horseback Riding Locations
The stables on Providenciales are found on opposite sides of the islands, and the beach, sights and scenery differ a bit depending on which tour is taken. The routes used are generally on level terrain with little change in elevation.
The Bight Beach is adjacent to Grace Bay, so you’ll see more of the luxury resorts and hotels, Hobie Cat sailboats from the local sailing club, and small reefs in the water.
The lightly-developed Long Bay Beach is located on the shallow Caicos Banks region of Providenciales, which displays a dazzling hue of turquoise. The coast is one of the top kiteboarding destinations in the Caribbean, so you’ll see some action on the water as well if the wind is blowing.

What to Wear
It’s recommended that you wear long trousers and closed-toe shoes. Sandals should not be worn.
Booking and Reservations
We highly advise booking your reservation well in advance of your visit to the Turks and Caicos, as both of the island’s stables are small and availability is limited. This is especially the case during the winter “high season” months.
Cancellations within 24-48 hours before a scheduled ride may incur hefty fees. A 12% tourism tax may be additional to the advertised rates.
Weddings and Special Events
If you’re looking for a private ride or would like to do a photo shoot or wedding, special arrangements and times can be booked.
Unique Tours
Unique Tours is a small locally owned riding stable located near the beach at Blue Hills. Unlike other stables, all rides take place entirely at the beach, and there’s no riding on roads or trails. Both shared and private rides are available.
Reservations are recommended, especially for private rides. Weight limits of about 200 (90 kg) per rider apply, and only one rider is allowed per horse. Minimum rider age of six. Helmets are required for children and are optional for adults, and are provided.
Shared Rides
Unique Tours features guided and shared rides on Blue Hills Beach twice daily, Sunday through Friday. This beautiful beach is typically quite calm, with shallow water that’s perfect for wading in. Some of the island’s favorite island restaurants are located nearby, and are the perfect place to grab lunch before or after your ride!
Private Rides
As a boutique riding stable, Unique Tours offers private rides on nearly any beach on Providenciales, including world-famous Grace Bay, Leeward Beach, and the Bight Beach. Guides can meet you directly on the beach outside your villa or resort, so the entirety of your ride is on the beach or in our turquoise waters. Another great experience is sunset rides. Watch the colorful and breathtaking display riding on the beach.
Provo Ponies
Initially started as a rescue operation for abandoned and abused horses, Provo Ponies operates out of Long Bay Hills and has a herd of 26.
Other Stables
Heritage Tours is a new stable in the Turks and Caicos, and is located near the beach in the old fishing community of Five Cays. Like Long Bay Beach, Five Cays Beach offers soft, white sand, and shallow turquoise water.
The popular beachfront restaurant of Bugaloo’s is located adjacent to Heritage Tours’ stable, and is another popular tourist attraction.
Caicos Corral
Caicos Corral was a small stable on the Bight Beach in the Turtle Cove area, yet is no longer in operation. Unique Tours offers rides at the same location if requested.
