The Wine Establishment
Unit 103W, Grace Bay Court, Grace Bay, ProvidencialesWhether you’re a true oenophile or just looking for a nice bottle of wine to crack open on the beach, the Wine Establishment on Providenciales sells the gamut of fine European wines and spirits.
Run by French sommelier Aurélien le Daridor and his wife Kashka, the business prides itself on offering wines imported directly and exclusively from its foreign producers. The exclusive contracts mean that the Wine Establishment sells wines you can’t buy anywhere else on island, other than by the glass at the restaurants they supply.
A big perk for tourists is the store’s delivery option. The Wine Establishment delivers same-day orders around Providenciales, though for more remote locations like Chalk Sound, they require a minimum order value. The shop also has a wine for every budget, with a selection of cabernet sauvignons, pinot grigios, chardonnays, and Bordeaux wines that are $20 and under.
Aurélien and Kashka are happy to recommend bottles to customers.
The Wines
The store’s shelves are lined with hundreds of wines, from reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines to non-alcoholic and kosher wines. The largest variety of bottles are from France and Italy, but they also sell wines from Spain, Portugal, South Africa, New Zealand, and Greece, among other wine-producing countries.
Castaway, a rosé wine from the Provence region of France with Turks and Caicos branding, is a particularly nice souvenir for friends and family back home.
Wines are sold in a variety of formats, from half bottles to 6-liter bottles and even boxed wines.
Liquors
A range of international liquors are sold at the shop. The collection includes vodka, whisky, cognac, gin, and rum, as well as some of the harder-to-find spirits like mezcal, raicilla, pastis, and Peruvian pisco.
Tasting Events
The Wine Establishment hosts spontaneous tastings throughout the year at various locations in the islands. In the past, these events have been held at resorts on Providenciales like Seven Stars Resort & Spa and those on other islands, like COMO Parrot Cay.
Every once in a while, the producers who supply the Wine Establishment travel to the Turks and Caicos from Europe and beyond to host wine tastings, tasting dinners, and even brunches that serve their proprietary vintages, from champagne to burgundy wine. There is no set schedule for producer tastings.
More frequently, the Wine Establishment hosts its own tastings on the rooftop terrace of H2O Resort, a boutique beachfront resort in Long Bay. Occurring once a month or every few months, these tastings include snacks and samples of several different wines.
Events are usually advertised on the store's social media platforms. Space is often limited, so if you’re interested in participating, contact the shop early to sign up.
Specialty Foods and Wine Accessories
Along with a wide array of wines, the Wine Establishment also sells specialty Italian and French foods, from pastas, tapenades, and olive oils to truffle pastes and sweets.
Decanters and glasses of different shapes and sizes are available for purchase, and the store is happy to wrap and package them for travel accordingly.
